The Lat Pull Down
The lat pull down involves the muscles that oppose those used for the overhead press. This exercise is performed on weight machines where the bar is pulled down from overhead.
Muscles: Latissimus dorsi, rhomboids, biceps brachii
Transfer to Sports: Pull ups, still rings skills where gymnasts elevate, basketball rebounding from overhead.

General Movement: The bar, which is suspended overhead, is pulled down from a fully extended arm position to its lowest position behind or in front of the shoulders. Then it is allowed to elevate under control until the arms are fully extended.
Common Errors:
1. Not adequately securing the legs, permitting the body to elevate.
2. Choosing weight loads that do not permit movement through the full range.
